Many thanks - I'm getting very frustrated! I have seen a Hotfix (KB 938194, re article KB 932539) which seems close to addressing the problem, but when I try to install it, I'm told that it's not applicable to my machine! Ĭan anyone help, or has anyone else experienced this? However, I do want to do so, as I have a problem with live TV being interfered with by scrolling and resizing of windows when several are open. I have NOT yet upgraded to Vista SP1 as I want to get all my drivers up to date first - having read about many of the problems arising with old drivers. I can always revert to v.162.13 which came with the PC last year (either by rolling back the driver or, if I have cleaned that out, from the Recovery Drive), but every version that I have tried to update to (including that recommended from time to time by the PC manufacturer) produces an identical outcome! ![]() Checking Device Manager, the correct driver appears to be installed. ![]() Normal rebooting produces the same result, but in safe mode VGA graphics kick in. Nothing else happens when left and no action has any effect, while the hard disk appears to be at rest. Similar to some other threads - but not quite!Įvery time that I try to update my nVidia GeForce 8400GS driver to the latest WHQL version (presently 175.16), I just get a black screen with a flashing cursor top-left.
